Overfishing in Madagascar (Reuters)
Andavadoaka, 18 July 2009 (Reuters). The Vezo are a community in south-west Madagascar who have depended on the sea for centuries, catching fish to eat and to trade for other food like rice.
But now they sell their catch to traders who export to booming markets in Europe and Asia. The demand is greater than the supply so it's depleting local fish stocks.
