How can I help?
We rely upon the goodwill of our volunteers, staff and philanthropists to support our projects in the Indian Ocean. Your donation will directly contribute to help improve the lives of a poor community. We greatly value donations, but if you can contribute equipment or help raise awareness for our campaigns, please get in touch with us! There are a number of ways in which you can help Blue Ventures:

Help our special campaigns!
Help some of Madagascar's poorest children gain the education they need to improve their lives and their communities. With a donation of £20, a child will receive a full year’s scholarship along with books, pencils and other supplies needed for classes.
Damaging development, over-fishing, pollution and rapidly growing populations are threatening coastal resources and the people who rely upon them for survival. Help protect these habitats by contributing to the construction of Madagascar’s first community-run eco-lodge completely powered by wind and solar energy. You can also support this project through GlobalGiving.
Blue Ventures fundraising in schools
Does your school fundraise for charities? Why not choose Blue Ventures as your nominated charity? Fundraising is a fun way of uniting a class or school to work together for a good cause. It is also a proven great approach to developing those all important ‘transferable skills’ that so many employers and universities seek out in their application forms.

GlobalGiving
GlobalGiving is a website designed to support the entrepreneurial work of projects throughout the world, that are bringing innovative, empowering solutions to challenging social problems at the local community level. The website allows you to contribute to the work that Blue Ventures does through GlobalGiving's highly efficient, secure giving platform. All donations made though the website are fully tax-deductible.
A donation to Blue Ventures' project on GlobalGiving can also be given as a gift to friends, relatives, or colleagues. GlobalGiving and Blue Ventures will send the recipient a personalised card from you that describes the project, and the impact the donation you've made in their name will have.

The Blue Ventures Wish List
You can play an active role in marine biodiversity conservation and helping Blue Ventures by making a contribution of any goods, equipment and services, but we particularly need the following:
- Laptops for field work
- Computer software (e.g. GIS, Microsoft Office)
- Binoculars
- Digital cameras & underwater housings
- Printer and/or printing services

Making a payroll contribution
You may also make a gift under the Payroll Giving Scheme. There is now (since April 2000) no upper limit to the amount that you can give under this scheme. As a taxpayer, you will get tax relief on the amount of a charitable donation at your top rate of tax. Ask your employer or check the Payroll Giving website for further details.
Making a contribution of negotiable securities
An individual or a company can also make a gift in the form of a transfer of listed shares or securities and obtain income tax relief (or a deduction against profits in the case of a company) for the market value of the shares on the date of disposal. In addition, there will be no capital gains tax to pay on any shares that are transferred.
