Gaëtan Tsiresy

While pursuing a Masters degree at Toliara’s Marine Institute in 2006, Gaëtan began an internship at the on-campus sea cucumber laboratory, AQUA-LAB. Gaëtan received a Masters degree in aquaculture in 2007 and then spent two years as a laboratory technician at the sea-cucumber lab.

From March 2009 to March 2011, he was lead technician at the NGO TMD (Transmission Madagascar Développement) for the community sea cucumber aquaculture project. In April, 2011, he moved over to Blue Ventures and is currently assistant project coordinator for BV’s aquaculture project. At the same time, he is pursuing a Doctorate at the IHSM (Institut Halieuteque et des Sciences Marines) on the subject of the ecological factors influencing the growth of sea cucumbers (Holothuria scabra).
