Thomas is a former shark fisherman from Andavadoaka. Since joining the BV team in 2005, he has obtained a PADI Divemaster qualification, as well as scientific training, and has played a key role in coral reef monitoring at all three of BV's current field-sites: Velondriake, Belo-sur-Mer, and the Barren Isles. He is also involved in many of BV's awareness raising activities, helping to set up community-managed mangrove reserves in Belo-sur-Mer, and leading a sea turtle conservation social marketing campaign.
