Klavdija completed studies of Biology in 2007 at University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. During her studies she traveled in Africa, Latin America and the USA, volunteering in different dolphin and turtle conservation projects. She completed her PADI Dive Master course while in Florida. After finishing her studies she worked for a sea bass fish farm and later for the Fisheries Research Institute of Slovenia. During that time she participated in several meetings with the European Commission regarding the fish stock assessments for the Mediterranean.
In 2010 she received a research assistantship at the School of Marine Science and Technology at University of Massachusetts (Dartmouth). She joined the Blue Ventures Belize team in March 2012, after volunteering for Centro Ecologico Akumal in Mexico. While with the Centro Ecologico Akumai she participated in fish surveys, and also taught English in a small village school in Guatemala (the village was called Carmelita).
She loves the world below the surface of the sea and the vibe of Latin America and therefore her job.
