Sarah has a Marine Biology MSc from the University of Essex. During her degree, she travelled twice to Indonesia to study the relationship between Butterflyfish and the architectural complexity of coral.

She also holds a Zoology BSc Hons from the University of Bristol, where she researched the effects of habitat fragmentation on biodiversity. In between studying she has spent 13 months travelling throughout 10 African countries, mostly volunteering on several conservation and community projects. Whilst in Tanzania she completed an Advanced BTEC Diploma in Tropical Habitat Conservation, focussing on herbivorous fish as a habitat indicator species.
