Administrative assistant

Toliara, Madagascar

A geographer by training, Sandra understands the activities of Blue Ventures very well. Indeed, before her time with Blue Ventures, she had already done a feasibility study as a consultant for funding from the Coopération Française for several villages in the South West of Madagascar and was one of the first to have studied the development of the coastal village of Ifaty (now the centre of the local marine management organisation, FIMIHARA).

Indeed, after four years of study of Geography at the University of Tulear, Sandra practiced it professionally in the field for three years, she has co-authored two publications (ORSTOM in 1996, Paris IV University in 1997) and authored several social surveys on schooling and the educational level of Vezo. However, after deciding to remain in the city, she was directed towards management and administration after some additional training in Antananarivo. She has worked previously at Alliance Française, also managing two private schools. She has been able to gain experience in public relations and negotiations of Tulear.

She has an aptitude for languages (Malagasy official and dialect, French, English) and therefore has been able to assist in the drafting and translation of Blue Ventures' latest publications and reports.
