Mahasoa received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Arts & Literature from the University of Toliara. During the course of his studies, he served as an HIV/AIDS educator for the Ambovombe-based NGO Mamy, and worked for five years as a radio presenter for both the Feon'ny Fanantenana and University of Toliara radio stations, producing educational programming and hosting shows. Mahasoa also worked for nearly three years on UNICEF's nutrition, water and sanitation programme (PAEAR), developing radio content for behavior change and organising listening groups.
Mahasoa oversees Blue Ventures' health education activities, and our water, sanitation and hygiene work as part of the Safidy community health programme. Every two months his team visits 20 communities on the village outreach tour; teaching in schools, supporting youth clubs and giving community presentations. Mahasoa also facilitates our community-led total sanitation (CLTS) initiative, develops health-related radio programming and compiles articles for our local newsletter.
