Kate studied Environmental Science at the University of Birmingham, where she also got involved with the International Volunteering Society and particularly focussed on rainforest conservation in Ecuador.

Prior to working for Blue Ventures she worked for a small gap year organisation sending volunteers out to work on teaching and child welfare projects. Kate has a passion for South America and spent a year living there working as a teacher in an Amerindian village community in the rainforest of Guyana.
