Frederic Le Manach

Fisheries policy adviser Frederic has worked in close collaboration with Blue Ventures for 2 years.

Frederic received his MSc from the University of Plymouth in 2011, and is currently working on his PhD jointly at the University of British Columbia (Canada) and at the French Research Institute for Development (IRD), under Dr Daniel Pauly and Dr Philippe Cury. His thesis focuses on international fisheries agreements and improvements to make them more sustainable and fair. Frederic has worked in close collaboration with Blue Ventures fisheries team over the last two years to improve the accountability of the different fisheries sectors in Madagascar, and advises BV on foreign and domestic industrial fishing.
