Chair of Trustees
Jonathan has a wealth of experience within the not-for-profit sector.
Jonathan has held a number of senior, executive Director roles in strategy, business development and finance for both large UK public companies (Diageo Plc, Sears Plc, E &O Properties Plc) and more recently, as the Chair of smaller, entrepreneurial and VC backed ventures.. Sectors include pubs/restaurants, retail, property, online marketing and the internet.
Strategic roles have included major portfolio restructurings, acquisitions and disposals, the implementation of group-wide change projects to transfer best practice and a range of new business development projects. As Finance Director, his experience covers the development of performance management and control procedures, fund raising and a number of overhead reduction and cash and capital control exercises.
Over the last few years, as Chairman of a number of high growth businesses his responsibilities have broadened to cover the overall performance of the business, including business planning, performance management, and the recruitment and development of the senior team.
Jonathan has also maintained an involvement in the not for profit sector and has been a Trustee of Save the Children and the Chair of their commercial operations (shops, catalogue and internet business). In addition he is an active Governor for a large comprehensive school in South London (2000 pupils and budget of £11m) and Chair of their Finance and Development Committee.
He has been with Global Action Plan, a UK based environmental charity for 3 years as their Commercial Director and now combines this with the Treasurer role.
