Caroline Lovelace is the former Head of Internal Audit for WWF, the international conservation charity. In that role she worked closely with senior management and the Boards of WWF International and the wider WWF network to develop and strengthen the organisation’s risk and assurance framework both in the UK and Internationally.
Prior to WWF Caroline was Internal Audit Manager at Waverley Borough Council in Surrey having qualified as a CIPFA accountant at the National Audit Office where she worked as an external auditor in a number of government organisations including Royal Parks and Palaces, English Heritage, the Department of Environment and the Ministry of Defence.
Caroline has held a lifelong interest in the natural world and the place of humans within it. Her degree, awarded by Kings College, London is in Human Environmental Studies and she feels privileged to have been able to use her professional skills in the service of the environment for much of her career. Now retired from WWF Caroline is a Trustee of Blue Ventures and in her spare time enjoys travelling, walking and tending her small patch of garden.
