Nick first started working in conservation in Sardinia, where he focused on conservation policy and wildlife monitoring. After a few years working with local organisations he joined a European Master’s programme that awarded him an MSc in Conservation from Bangor University, UK, and an MSc in Forest Ecology from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. This led him to wildlife conservation projects in Cape Verde, Madagascar, Turkey, and Malta.
Nick joined Blue Ventures in 2017, first as Country Manager for Timor-Leste and then as Conservation Programmes Manager in our Bristol office. After a short break, when he left to run a project on seagrass ecosystem services in southeast Asia, Nick rejoined Blue Ventures as Technical Advisor – Mangroves and Blue Carbon. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, capoeira, Dungeons & Dragons, and playing guitar. Poorly.
