I am a marine ecologist and community co-management specialist focused on supporting coastal communities balance the sustainable use of natural resources with effective protection of their local ecosystems.
I have worked globally across the Americas, Africa, Asia and the Pacific supporting national teams and a broad range of governments and civil society partners to build legal and functional community-based management networks at unprecedented scales.
My approach bridges from scientific discovery and research to practical implementation and organizational structure and leadership. I have built and led diverse and multi-cultural teams and supported them in the design and implementation of programs that break down complex issues into solvable components. My career through line has been a deep belief in the power of local communities to effect lasting change, of working across a broad range of disciplines spanning ecology, economics, policy and behavioral science and to build the organizational frameworks and program structures needed to deliver and measure impact.
