Njaka joined Blue Ventures as the Velondriake community health programme coordinator in January 2016. He has more than 7 years of experience in health programme management and monitoring and evaluation, including managing and integrating a health programme within an aquaculture company. He has spent much of his career working in very difficult zones such as Ampanihy, Betroka, Ambilobe Ambavanankarana, Amboasary and the Fort Dauphin area. Njaka was born in Antananarivo though his wife is from the south of Madagascar and they have two children.
He holds a Masters degree in management with a focus on finance and accounting from Ankatso University in Antananarivo. He has also completed additional trainings in rural and social development, team management, planning, monitoring and evaluation and in community conflict resolution.
Given that 90 % of Malagasy people are involved in fishing and/or agriculture, Njaka has dedicated his time to rural development in order to support people in improving their living conditions. It is for this reason that he is always ready to return to the south of Madagascar; to participate in this big goal with BV through managing the health programme.
Njaka worked for almost three years in the Velondriake areas. He is very motivated to bring innovations and improvements to our community health appeals in other areas that BV currently work such as Youth Groups, ODK RMA, Community Agents in health and environment as well as strong partnerships with the Ministry of Public Health, Marie stop Madagascar and also PSI and Mahefa Miaraka. Technically reinforce the Safidy team by Sites so that Safidy’s programs are a model for other programs in terms of integration of health with marine conservation.
