Andreina Acosta


Field Scientist Intern

Andreina Acosta is a recent graduate from the University of Belize with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Andreina is originally from the Corozal District, the northernmost district in Belize, but grew up in San Pedro Ambergris Caye with the second largest barrier reef just meters away from home. This life experience nurtured her love and passion for the marine ecosystems, as well as the environment. Through her life, she has been involved in volunteer work with many environmental organizations in Belize and was active in environmental clubs while in school, always aspiring to contribute greatly to the scientific community.

Andreina recently joined the Blue Ventures team as a Field Scientist Intern, where she enjoys learning about benthic organisms and fish, as well as diving and increasing her dive capacity. In doing this, she displays her passion for the marine ecosystem and grows as a scientist. On her free time, Andreina enjoys reading, diving and listening to music.
