Ismaël worked with Blue Ventures as a consultant in 2015 and 2016 at the soil lab in Antananarivo and with some field work in Ambaro-Ambanja Bays. He obtained his master’s degree in 2015 after completing a research internship with Blue Ventures in 2013 and 2014. He is now working with Blue Ventures in Ambanja as a Blue Carbon Scientist. This role involves managing all BCS data entry, data management and assisting general Blue Carbon Science team activities and take a lead role in the management of the soil lab in Antananarivo.

He studied Natural Sciences at the University of Antananarivo, Faculty of Sciences and specialised on plant biology and ecology. He has some background in soil technical analysis thanks to training/internship in LRI Tsarahonenana and FOFIFA Tsimbazaza.

He already worked as a consultant with WWF Morondava on soil sampling and soil carbon analysis in Belo/Tsiribihina mangrove forests, WWF Ambilobe on Mangrove training and reforestation in Ambaro bay and Ambatovy Minerals S.A on floristic inventory to increase the mining footprint.
