Catherine Pigeon-Dubeau

Catherine obtained her bachelors in environmental sciences with a specialisation in biodiversity and conservation from McGill University in Canada. She has focused her studies mainly on marine biology as a result of her passion for diving. She has worked with invasive green crabs on the east coast of Canada and has spent 6 months volunteering as a research and divemaster intern for an NGO in Southwest Madagascar. There, she assisted the team in conducting underwater visual censuses quantifying fish, benthic and invertebrate abundance in addition to taking part in education and alternative livelihoods projects and completing her Assistant Instructor course.

She joined Blue Ventures in Madagascar as a Field Scientist in May 2016 before becoming a FIP & Fisheries Coordinator in 2017.
