Fran is responsible for overseeing our conservation programmes and partnerships in Madagascar, Belize, Comoros, Mozambique and Timor-Leste, providing technical support to our field staff, ensuring that all programme objectives are met, and managing relations with our funding partners.  Fran also oversees the development of our smartphone fisheries monitoring work, having completed her doctoral research on improving understanding of artisanal shark and turtle fisheries in Madagascar. Prior to joining the Blue Ventures team, Fran studied for an MRes in Marine Biology at the University of Plymouth where she researched the effectiveness of of temporary octopus fishery closures.
