Fran is responsible for overseeing our conservation programmes in Madagascar and Belize, providing technical support to our field staff, ensuring that all grant objectives are met, managing relations with our donors, and coordinating the development of our smartphone fisheries monitoring work. She is also currently completing her PhD part-time at the University of Exeter, looking at the status of artisanal shark and turtle fisheries in southwest Madagascar. Prior to working for Blue Ventures, Fran studied for an MRes in Marine Biology at the University of Plymouth where she researched the effects of temporary octopus fishery closures.
