Liz Day

Southwest Regional Manager
Andavadoaka, Madagascar

Liz is half-French / half-British, and has been passionate about marine conservation and sustainable fisheries since her experiences as a dive master in various parts of the world. She is responsible for overseeing BV’s conservation programmes in the southwest of Madagascar, building the capacity of local communities for marine resource management.

Before joining BV in March 2015, Liz worked as a media consultant, compiling reports directed at attracting foreign direct investment into emerging markets. She specialised in the Middle East and Africa, and travelled to over ten countries in the region managing projects involving government and the private sector across a range of sectors. To fulfil her long-term passion for marine conservation, she then embarked on a career change by completing an MA at Kings College London specialising in the causes of overfishing in West Africa, and worked for various environmental organisations dedicated to bringing increased sustainability to the fisheries sector.

Apart from diving and travelling, Liz enjoys reading long novels, playing tennis (badly) and going to music gigs.
