Lovasoa Cédrique Augustave

Fisheries Programme Coordinator
Andavadoaka, Madagascar

Lovasoa Cédrique is a Malagasy national with keen interest in conservation, management and sustainable use of marine living resources. He is also a PADI Open Water Diver and has done volunteer work for coral reef monitoring with the Institut Halieutique et des Sciences Marines (IH.SM).

After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Environment, coastal and marine biodiversity at IH.SM, he focused his Master of Science in International Fisheries Management at the Norwegian College of Fisheries Science – The Arctic University of Norway. From there, Lovasoa Cédrique has worked, for six months, with one of the ongoing EU project called FarFish as an intern, where he got to do some of his favorite things: learn, develop, improve and share his evolving knowledge on fisheries management concepts and development.

Now he is back in Madagascar, and decided to join Blue Ventures as Fisheries Programme Coordinator in southwest Madagascar to share his passion and to contribute to the development, management and sustainable use of the small-scale fisheries. As such, Lovasoa’s tasks take roots from the fisheries and Fisheries Improvement Projects. His focus is then based on – but not limited to – the successful implementation and development of BV fisheries strategy and FIP model in the South-West.

Besides his academic and professional work, Lovasoa Cédrique has been doing and teaching Afro-Latin dances since 2007, and he has been travelling around the world for dance competition and workshop. Lovasoa Cédrique also enjoys outdoor activities like beach volley, biking, and of course scuba diving.
