She completed her PADI divemaster training on the Honduran island of Utila in 2015, then graduated from the University of Bristol with an MSci in Environmental Geoscience in 2017. Her masters project involved analysing modelled coral larvae dispersal throughout the Indian Ocean and describing how this changes both seasonally and annually. After graduating, Rachel interned with Blue Ventures in the Bristol office for 4 months, where she worked closely with the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning team and helped with the creation of an online database for GIS files related to Blue Ventures various sites. Once the internship finished she decided to apply for the field scientist role, and later moved to Andavadoaka in May 2018.
