Restoring ocean life by putting communities first

We focus on removing the systemic barriers that prevent coastal communities from leading ocean protection and securing their futures.

Our model unlocks the resources, skills, voice, and evidence communities need to lead by:

  • Funding: local organisations to catalyse, expand and sustain their efforts.
  • Training and learning: to build and share knowledge, solutions and skills.
  • Advocacy: to shift policies and power to coastal communities. 
  • Community-owned data: to inform decisions, track change, and drive accountability.

Funding

The Frontline Community Fund offers multi-year, flexible funding to local organisations, enabling them to catalyse, expand and sustain their work

Training & Learning

We are building a community of practice through shared learning, peer exchange, and tailored training, empowering coastal communities to drive change from the ground up

Data

Our shared platform enables communities to generate, access and use real-time data to inform decisions, strengthen advocacy, and measure the outcomes of fisheries and habitat management

Advocacy

We support communities and partners to secure recognition, representation, and influence in the decisions that affect their seas - locally, nationally, and globally

This model guides the Community Pathway: catalysing action, expanding community management, and sustaining locally managed marine areas to safeguard the food and income of communities
