With a master’s degree in Life and Earth Science from Majunga University, Emilien developed his field expertise in consultancies on the study of crabs with the SmartFish programme in Bombetoka Bay, Majunga . In May 2016, he joined the BV Ambanja team as a consultant, a technician who conducted the pilot test of crab fattening in Ambaro-Ambanja Bay. He then became a Data Entry Operator from July until December 2016. His obvious dynamism, integrity and competence on the ground led to a proposal for a permanent contract with BV in January 2017 as a Data Collection Assistant within the sustainable fisheries programme in Ambanja.
In July 2018, he was promoted to the role of Fisheries Community Liaison Officer. He is very motivated to support local communities with managing their marine resource in a sustainable way.
