After a degree in zoology Ruth became easily distracted by the glorious world of spreadsheets and sums and worked as a Senior International Finance Officer at the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (but they’re not just about the birds!). She mainly worked on projects in Africa and the UK overseas territories, ranging from developing a cocoa business to tagging seals. After that she was the Project Costing Advisor at WaterAid in London, helping with their project applications and developing their work on cost recovery.
Ruth started at Blue Ventures in March 2020 where she oversees the management of a number of grants, with the invaluable help of Jenny Maltby.
Ruth has done volunteer work and project management training in the Seychelles and the Philippines including working with dive centres to become more environmentally sustainable. She loves to scuba dive and can even be found in the cold, murky waters of the UK!
